Congress tried two times to impeach President Johnson, but he was acquitted both times. True or False?

False. He was impeached the first time.
The only reason he assumed the Presidency was because Lincoln was assassinated . His plans as president did not give protection to former slaves so it created conflict with the Republican-dominated Congress. That led to him being impeached basically.
