.06x + .08 (18000 - x) = 1290 solve for x and explain the steps. x should equal 7500, but I can't figure out how it is done. please help !

6/100*x + 8/100 (18000-x) = 1290
Let (8*18000/100)=a for simplicity.
6/100x + 8/100x + a =1290
14/100x=1290-a
x=(1290-a)*100/14
should be 7500
