Let’s look at the first table. Set up the rule: y=kx You want to replace the variables with the numbers in the chart. Let’s do 11=k21. Since y is smaller than x we would most likely use a fraction or decimal. Now what we want to do is divide 11 by 21. This should give you the result of 0.5238095238 or ≈0.52 so the rule is y=0.52x.

Now let’s look at the second chart. Let’s do 1=k4. Same thing, divide 1 by 4 which will give you the result of 0.25. The rule of this table is y=0.25x.
