A diamond with a mass of 45 g hangs motionless from a chain. what is the upward force of the chain on the diamond?

The chain would support the weight of the diamond.

m = 45g = 45/1000 = 0.045 kg,  g ≈ 9.8 m/s²

W =  0.045 * 9.8 ≈ 0.441 N

Upward force ≈ 0.441 N
